The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the commencement of recruitment for ad hoc staff for the 2023 general elections.

This was made known to the public in a statement released on Wednesday 7th September 2022 on its official Facebook page. INEC called on interested and eligible persons to visit its designated recruitment portal and apply.

The statement disclosed that the Commission has approved the re-activation of INECPRES Mobile App for Android phones and the web portal (for laptops only).

INEC Adhoc Staff Recruitment Positions

Several position will be available for Persons to man all the polling units. Vacancies exist for eligible applicants for registration for the following categories of ad-hoc staff except the Collation officers.

1. Supervisory Presiding Officer – SPO
2. Presiding Officer (PO) (Ballot Paper Issuance/Overseer)
3. Assistant Presiding Officer (APO) I (Verification and Statistics);
4. Assistant Presiding Officer (APO)II (Register-Check/Inking);
5. Assistant Presiding Officer (APO) III (Queue Controller).
6. Assistant Presiding Officer Voting Point, APO (VP)
7. RATECHS
8. RAC Managers

INEC Recruitment 2022 Requirements

The commission mostly prefer NYSC Corp Members but other Graduates with HND, B.Sc or Masters’s Degree from an accredited Tertiary Institution in relevant discipline can apply. Also, OND, and NCE holders with a good knowledge of computers and its basic applications can apply. All Applicants are required to possess the ability to work with proper delivery of various task as required by the organization.

Application Deadline/Closing Date

The INEC Adhoc portal opens on Wednesday the 14th of September and closes on the 30th November, 2022.

This is inline with the Commission Elections timeline as the INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, had last week said it will publish the final lists of presidential and national assembly candidates on September 20. The electoral body also said campaigns will officially commence on September 28.
