NDDC Skills Development and Empowerment Program 2026: How to Apply

The Niger Delta Development Commission – NDDC is empowering young Nigerians with hands-work skills in technical and industrial expertise to drive innovation, foster growth, and build a sustainable future for the Niger Delta region.

NDDC invites application from qualified individuals to join the training to gain practical knowledge and unlock opportunities for personal and community development.

Objectives of the Program

The Commission targets Technical Skills Training for its indegens to:

  1. Create Employment Opportunities for the youths.
  2. Enable Economic Empowerment for the region.
  3. Reduce unemployment in the region.
  4. Reduction in youth restiveness and crime.
  5. Enhance community development in the region.
  6. Foster sustainable economic growth.

Available NDDC Training Programs

 

1. NDDC CNG AutoGas Conversion Training Programme

This training programme focuses on the conversion of vehicles to run on compressed natural gas (CNG), promoting cleaner and more efficient fuel alternatives.

The NDDC Skill Development Training and Empowerment Programme aims to train youths with practical skills on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Vehicle Conversion.

Participants will be equipped with tools, hands-on technical training, certification, and a monthly stipend during the course of the training program.

Other aspects in previous training programs include:

2. Pipe Coating and Sand Blasting

Pipe coating and sand blasting are essential industrial techniques for preparing and protecting surfaces, ensuring durability and longevity in pipelines and infrastructure.

3. Scaffolding

Scaffolding is a temporary structure used in construction to provide safe access and support for workers and materials at elevated heights and widely used in various industries.

4. Industrial Pipe Fitting

Industrial pipe fitting involves installing and maintaining piping systems that transport fluids and gases in industries like oil and gas, manufacturing, and power generation.

5. Forklift Operation

Forklift operation involves safely using forklifts to lift, move, and stack materials in warehouses, construction sites, and industrial settings.

Requirements for NDDC CNG Vehicle Conversion Training Programme

To be considered for the NDDC CNG Vehicle Conversion Training Programme, interested applicants must:

  1. be indigenes from any of the nine (9) states in the Niger Delta Region.
  2. have a minimum qualification of SSCE/WAEC in Science related subjects, OND(Sciences)/ Trade Test Certificate from any recognized institution.
  3. be fresh graduates in engineering courses within the Niger Delta, with passion and a clear vision for CNG Conversion Technology, may also apply.
  4. be aged 18yrs-35Yrs.
  5. Other recognized technical qualification related to automotive, mechanical, or allied trades would be an added advantage.

To apply for the NDDC Skill Development Training and Empowerment Programme, interested and qualified candidates should;
