With just few days to the closing of the Police Service Commission (PSC) recruitment, interested young Nigerians still have the opportunity to join the Nigeria Police Force as Police Constable (Recruits).

In a public notice on the Commission website, the Police Service Commission (PSC) in conjunction with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) called for interested and qualified Nigerians to apply for enlistment into the law enforcement agency in Nigeria.

The Commission announced that the online application portal will be opened for the period of six weeks starting from 15th October and will be open to both male and female Nigerians of good character.

A. General Duty Constable

B. Specialist (artisan) Police Constables. The Specialized Fields include:

  • Medical Assistant (Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW)
  • Veterinary Assistant (Relevant Certificate in Animal Health/Livestock) etc
  • Band Section
  • Communications/Info-Tech
  • Driver/Mechanic
  • Marine
  • Plumbers
  • Masons
  • Painters
  • Tilers
  • Electricians
  • Welders
  • Carpenters

Criteria for Application 

The criteria for the Police Service Commission Online Application are as follows:

  1. Applicants must be a Nigerian by birth.
  2. Applicants must possess the National Identification Number (NIN).
  3. Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 credits in not more than 2 sittings in WAEC/NECO or its equivalent with credit passes in English and Mathematics. SSCE statements of result or certificates relating to examinations taken before 2015 will not be accepted.
  4. Applicants must be aged between 18 and 25 years.
  5. Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit.
  6. Must not be less than 1.67m tall for male and 1.64m tall for female.
  7. Applicants must not have less than 86cm (34 inches) expanded chest measurement (for male only).
  8. Female Applicants must not be pregnant at the time of entry.
  9. Applicants must have a valid email address and phone number.
  10. Applicants must be free from any financial embarrassment.
  11. Applicant must not be convicted of any criminal offence.

How to Apply 

Prospective applicants are required to complete the online application forms available on the Commission recruitment portal at www.apply.policerecruitment.gov.ng and submit same within the specified period.

Follow the steps below to complete your application

Step 1: Go to the PSC recruitment Portal Website: apply.policerecruitment.gov.ng to fill the online application form.

Step 2: Upload scanned copies of your SSCE, Birth and Certificates of Origin.

Step 3: Print your completed online form and guarantor form.

Step 4: fill the guarantor form and wait for the list of successfully shortlisted candidates to check your name.

Step 5: Submit your Printed completed online form and guarantor forms at the physical/credentials screening exercise at prescribed centers Nationwide.

Step 7: Be ready to undergo a combined Academic and Physical Training leading to the employment of successful ones into the Nigeria Police Force as Specialist (artisan) Police Constables (PC).
