MTN has introduced a Business growth program to support Startup businesses in Africa to expand their business using MTN grant and infrastructure in the MTN Cloud Accelerator.
The MTN Cloud Accelerator is a 12-week hybrid program for startups ready to scale with MTN’s infrastructure, APIs, and support.
MTN Cloud Accelerator Grant Program 2025
MTN Cloud Accelerator is designed to help African startups grow faster by leveraging MTN’s products, platforms, and partners. Whether you’re scaling digital payments, transforming healthcare, or reimagining agriculture — successful applicants will get the tools, funding, and network to go further.
The Program is powered by MTN Cloud designed for Africa and from Africa to accelerate startup businesses with funding, deep product integration, and access to Africa’s largest telco infrastructure.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the grant businesses must be within the following category
- Business must be a Growth-stage startup with MVPs or live products
- Its Founders must have deep customer insight and traction
- Business must be targeted at solving African problems including Fintech & Payments,
- HealthTech, EdTech, AgriTech, AI & Data Infrastructure, Cybersecurity & Digital ID, Retail & E-commerce
- Business must be serving rural or underserved communities
Do I need to be an MTN customer? No, the program is open to any African startup business that meets the above criteria.
Program Benefits
Successful applicants will get Grants, mentorship, and powerful integrations to MTN infrastructure to supercharge your startup journey. The incentives include:
- Cash Benefit: ₦100,000,000 in grants per cohort. Each startup receives ₦5 million in grant funding
- Sales and GTM support from MTN teams
- Showcase at MTN: Demo Day with investors and media
- API Integration: MTN Cloud, MoMo, Chenosis APIs, and more
- Access to cloud credits and technical advisory
- 1 on 1 mentorship with industry experts
- Investor pitch coaching and warm VC intros
- Post-program support: pilots, partnerships, and M&A readiness
In addition, after the program, Startups may be eligible for MTN pilots, commercial partnerships, or even long-term integration into MTN’s product stack. They\’ll also continue to support with investor intros and alumni perks.
Mode of Training
The program will last for 12 weeks with virtual training sessions. Travelling and physical contact will be needed for two weeks only: Week 1 (Kickoff) and Week 12 (Demo Day), which will be held in Lagos. All other sessions are virtual.
