“How I won the English competition in London surprised me a lot” – Says JSS3 Yobe State student, Rukayyah Muhammad Fema who emerged victorious in the English Debate category of the TeenEagle competition.

The TeenEagle competition is an internationally recognised contest that tests English proficiency, critical thinking, and communication skills, attracting students from both English-speaking and non-English-speaking nations.

Similarly a seventeen-year-old Nafisa Abdullah Aminu, a student hailing from Yobe State in Nigeria, has been recognized as the top performer in English language skills globally at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom.

Nafisa emerged victorious over 69 countries and surpassed 20,000 participants to win the recently concluded UK Global Final 2025 TeenEagle English Language Skills Competition held in London.

Rukayyah Muhammad Fema, 15, was honored as the overall best in debate, while her schoolmates Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, 17, and Hadiza Kashim Kalli were also recognized with the World Best in English Language Skills and the Outstanding Talent Award, respectively, for their achievements at the TeenEagle Global Finals.

The students\’ outstanding performance in the international competition has been met with widespread praise from public officials, including the Yobe State Governor, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Isa Ali Pantami.
