The National Universities Commission (NUC) Recruitment 2025/2026 is currently ongoing, offering various job vacancies to qualified Nigerian citizens
Application is open to all eligible Nigerian citizens from the ages of 18 to 50 and are required to possess appropriate qualifications, competencies, skills, and orientation. NYSC discharge/exemption certificate, digital skills and computer literacy shall be required for applicants for CONTISS 7-9.
NUC Recruitment and Job Vacancies
The National Universities Commission (NUC), Nigeria’s apex regulatory agency for University education, invites applications from suitably qualified applicants to fill vacant positions at its Headquarters in Abuja. The positions available on the NUC Careers Portal are as follows
Senior Officer (CONTISS 9)
Identifying and facilitating innovations and best practices in the Nigerian University System
Requirements:
- Ph. D. degree in disciplines relevant to the Commission’s mandate
- Or Master’s degree plus at least four years’ post-qualification cognate experience
- Or first degree plus at least six years’ post-qualification cognate experience
Trainee/Officer I (CONTISS 8)
Collecting, collating and analyzing timely and up-to-date data on Nigerian Universities…
Requirements:
- Masters degree in disciplines relevant to the Commission’s mandate
- Or a first degree plus at least three years’ post-qualification cognate experience.
Trainee Officer II (CONTISS 7)
Collecting and interpreting data for use by senior officers, Making submissions and preparing draft memoranda, speeches and official correspondence
Requirements:
- A first degree in disciplines relevant to the Commission’s mandate
Confidential Secretary I (CONTISS 7)
Providing secretarial services including diary management, word processing, document organisation, and related tasks
Requirements:
- Applicants must possess at least a Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies, plus at least three years post-qualification cognate experience
Assistant Cameraman (CONTISS 5)
Performing routine photographic duties under supervision, including coverage of official activities for publications and records
Requirements:
- Applicants must possess at least a National Diploma in either Cinematography or Mass Communication from a recognized institution. Cognate experience shall be an advantage.
Data Processing Assistant (CONTISS 5)
Accurately input, update, and maintain information in databases, spreadsheets, or information management systems
Requirements:
- Applicants must possess at least a National Diploma in fields relevant to the Commission’s mandate. Cognate experience shall be an advantage.
Artisans/Craftsman (Carpenter, Plumber, Electrician, Air-conditioning Mechanic) (CONTISS 4 or CONTISS 3)
Performing duties that require fabrication, processing, installation, maintenance, repairs, or inspection of buildings, furniture, electric-mechanical systems, mobile and stationary machines, and other materials and equipment in specific fields
Requirements:
- Applicants must possess at least ‘O’ Level Certificate or its equivalent, Class II/III Trade Test Certificate in the appropriate trade. Technical training and cognate experience on the subject matter shall be an advantage.
Lift Operator (CONTISS 4 or CONTISS 3)
Operating the lifts in the Commission , Performing simple maintenance jobs on the lifts
Requirements:
- Applicants must possess at least a First School Leaving Certificate. Technical training and cognate experience in the operation of lifts shall be an advantage.
Motor Driver/Mechanic (CONTISS 4 or CONTISS 3)
Driving assigned vehicles with care and caution, Maintaining records of fuel and lubrication consumption of the vehicle
Requirements:
- Applicants must possess at least an ‘O’ Level Certificate or its equivalent, Class II/III Trade Test Certificate for Motor Mechanic Work, plus a valid Class ‘C’ Driving license. Cognate experience shall be an advantage.
