The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has added two more subjects to its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The two new UTME subjects are Computer Studies and Physical and Health Education.
This was contained in the boards weekly bulletin released by the Director of Public Relations, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday.
JAMB said the addition of the two subjects to the existing 23 UTME subjects would commence from the 2022 UTME exercise.
This means that candidates sitting for the 2022 UTME could now choose Computer Studies or Physical and Health Education as part of the four required UTME subjects as may be required by their preferred programme of study.
The board explained in its bulletin that the move is to broaden candidates choice of subjects combination and enhance the career prospects of students moving to tertiary institutions.
The bulletin indicates that with the additional two subjects, there are now 25 UTME subjects available for combination or selection by candidates.
The other UTME subjects are Mathematics, Use of English, Agricultural Science, Arabic, Art, Biology, Chemistry, Christian Religious Studies, Commerce, Economics, French, Geography, Government, Hausa, History and Home Economics.
Others are Igbo, Islamic Studies, Literature in English, Music, Physics, Principles of Accounts and Yoruba.
JAMB, in the weekly bulletin also announced that the National Universities Commission NUC had approved Bachelor of Arts Degree in Shariah Program at Bayero University Kano as well as other Affiliate Courses for Federal College of Education in Kano and the College of Education, Minna.
