NA Career Opportunities 2024
The 2024 Nigerian Army Recruitment is in two categories as indicated below:
- Regular Recruit Intake Application (SSCE Holders)
- SSC/DSSC Application (Graduates)
CATEGORY A: Regular Recruit Intake Application – 86RRI (for SSCE Holders)
We can now rest the issue of those who complain ‘I can’t find job because I only have a Secondary School Certificate’, as the NA is now giving you an opportunity to work for the Government and the Good people of Nigeria as a military officer with the responsibility of defending its borders. So you don’t need to be a University graduate to work for the Government of Nigeria.
The NA Recruitment for the Regular Recruit Intake (86 RRI) Applications has been ongoing since November last year. Successful candidates have been shortlisted and invited to report to their respective states of origin on 2nd January 2024 for further screening. CATEGORY B: ASSC/DSSC Course 28/2024 Application (for Graduates)
The Nigerian Army (NA for short) Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) officers program is designed to Commission graduates who possess both University and Polytechnic Certificates not below second class lower in any discipline. The prospective intakes through DSSC must be either a civilian or serving military personnel. This includes any serving military personnel who was sponsored to civil institutions by any of the Services of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Interested applicants in this category can apply to be commissioned into any of the following programs:

- Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps.
- Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport.
- Nigerian Army Medical Corps.

- Professionals Allied to Medicine.

- Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps.
- Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
- Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police.
- Nigerian Army Education Corps.
- Nigerian Army Finance Corps.
- Nigerian Army Band Corps.
- Directorate of Army Public Relations.

Entry Requirement
The NA recruitment general requirements are basically as follows:
- Applicant must be a Nigerian.
- Applicant must be a Graduate from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Applicant must possess the relevant qualification with grade not lower than second class.
- Applicant must be medically, mentally, and physically fit to withstand both military training and academic pressures.
- Applicant must not be an ex-convict.
- Must be of good and attestable character.

How to Apply
The NA Recruitment Application form 2024 is available online on the Nigerian Army Recruitment Portal. To successfully submit your application, you will need to take the following steps as indicated below:
- Step 1: Scan all your relevant documents.
- Step 2: Go online and visit The Nigerian Army Recruitment Portal at: recruitment.army.mil.ng and choose DSSC option from the page.
- Step3: Scroll down and click on the “Apply Now” button for the DSSC and select your qualification and Corps of choice.
- Step 4: A dialog box will appear, read and accept the disclaimer by checking the box to agree that you understand the requirements for DSSC and click on “Yes I have” if you have served or is serving in the Armed Forces of Nigeria, otherwise click on the “No, I Have Not” button to proceed.
- Step 5: The next page will show a dialog box saying ‘You are not permitted to access this page’. Click on Login to sign in to your account if you have ever applied before or Create an account.
- Step 6: Enter your email and password to login or click on “Don’t have an account?” to Sign up by entering your full name and email address and fill the DSSC Application Form.
- Step 7: Print out the online generated photo-slip on completion of your application.
- Step 8: Take the first page of the slip to a Registrar of any Court of Law to sign for you.
- Step 9: Take the second page to your Local Government Chairman/Secretary or any military officer of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel or equivalent and above who hails from your state of origin to sign for you.
- Step 10: Wait and pray for your name to be among the Successfully Shortlisted Candidates.
Note: According to the Nigerian Army Recruitment Schedule:
“Successful applicants would be invited to take a written examination at assigned examination centres. Successful candidates would present their printed application forms (photo-slips, guarantors form, attestation form etc) at the Examination Centres and subsequently to the Selection Board during interview.”
Application Deadline
Submission of online application starts on 19 January 2024 and closes on 23 February 2024.
